The environmental administration announced on Tuesday that a sheep was found dead on a grass field.

The animal was killed during the night of Sunday to Monday. Experts were called to the scene to inspect the corpse for bite marks and to take samples. The collected data will now be used to determine which animal is responsible for killing the sheep. Experts do not rule out the possibility of a wolf.

The Senckenberg Research Institute in Frankfurt has been tasked with the analysis of the samples. The results are expected in a few weeks.

If people notice further evidence or traces of a potential wolf, they should communicate their findings to the environmental administration via email (wolf@anf.etat.lu).
