On Wednesday, 60 MPs in the Chamber unanimously voted in favour of the extension until 25 November 2021.

For the third time since the beginning of the pandemic, the measure has been extended. The initiative concerns employees who have to stay home to take care of sick family members not allowed to conduct their regular activities. No changes have been made to the measure.

A dozen employees are currently on family leave, and several new demands have already been filed. MPs from different parties all agreed that the measure is a critically important step in the fight against the pandemic. Minister for Family Affairs Corinne Cahen has now confirmed that they are looking to potentially maintain the possibility of family leave even after the crisis.
