The campaign is organised by Roadpol (European Roads Policing Network) and is taking place simultaneously in many European countries. It is part of the fight against speeding, which remains the leading cause of road deaths in Europe and is at the origin of many serious accidents. Increased speed checks will therefore be carried out throughout Europe during the week of 19-25 April.
In this context, the 2021 edition of the “Speedmarathon” will take place in Luxembourg on 21 April. A large number of speed checks will be carried out throughout the country over a 24-hour period, particularly at peak times (between 6 am and 8.30 am and between 4 pm and 6.30 pm).

The Speedmarathon aims to draw attention to the risks of speeding. Therefore, the campaign will be covered on the police’s social media accounts: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, with the hashtag #speedmarathon.
