“Following all the news in recent hours, I think not before 1 April”, said François Koepp of Horesca in an interview on Friday. He shares sympathy with both the government and business owners taking to the streets, as in the end no one is content with the hospitality sector remaining shut, and it remains a big challenge to be overcome.
Koepp stressed that the government has come under pressure from neighbouring countries, where the sector remains closed. Opening up these establishments would risk our neighbours countries shutting their borders, Koepp said, and he has understanding for the uncomfortable position the government is finding itself in.
The current coronavirus restrictions are in place until 21 February, before which a new press conference will take place.
