With infection numbers on the rise, most large-scale events throughout the country are being cancelled again.

We have already put together a list of events that were called off due to Covid-19, which you can find here. Due to the circumstances, a significant number of events were added to the series, which you can find below.

Cancelled leisure events

  • The Christmas market in Mertert.
  • The “Deckkäpp2020 Soirée” in Beaufort, scheduled for 5 November, now postponed to 2021.
  • The inauguration of the new bar inside the Centre Omnisports Henri Schmitz, scheduled for 23 October.
  • The inauguration of the new bowls court in Schifflange, as well the “Day of Sustainability”, and the “Vernissage Expo”.
  • The laying of the foundation stone of the new Red-Cross building in Vianden.
  • A visit by hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume in Bascharage for the “Fit 4 Resilience Programme”, scheduled for 26 October.
  • A workshop tackling future plans for a development in Dommeldange, scheduled for 27 October.
  • Public grave blessings across the Grand Duchy.
  • The “3rd International Trauma Education Conference” by SOS Children’s Villages Luxembourg, scheduled for 11 and 12 November at Neumünster Abbey, now postponed to 2021.
  • All scheduled “Wine Tours” for the rest of 2020.
  • The course “MBSR-Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction”, held by Dr Marie-Paule Theisen and scheduled for 26 October in Esch.
  • The workshop on the Dommeldange smelting plant, scheduled for 27 October.
  • The “Hobby Market” in Roodt-sur-Syre, which was supposed to be organised on 24 and 25 October.
  • The book signing with Ingo Siegner.
  • The monthly meeting of the “Radioamateurs du Luxembourg” in Peppange.
  • The laying of the foundation stone of a new school in Echternach, scheduled for 26 October.
  • The hunt in Wiltz, which was supposed to take place on Tuesday.

Cultural events

  • The 150th anniversary concert of the Esch municipal harmonic orchestra, postponed to 2021.
  • The “Event Concert” of the Moutfort-Medingen harmonic orchestra, scheduled for 14 November.
  • The joint concert by the Soleuvre and Leudelange harmonic orchestras. The shows are postponed until further notice while tickets remain valid. People who prefer to be reimbursed can contact the organiser.
  • The “Hämmelsmarsch” events in Mamer, Soleuvre, Moesdorf, and Olingen.
  • The opening of the “Klick Creative Studio”, scheduled for 29 October.
  • The concert by British band “Dinosaur” at Neumünster Abbey.
  • The concert by German-Austrian act “Habe die Ehre!”, scheduled for 25 October.
  • The exhibition “retour à l’essentiel” at GALERIE39 in Dudelange.

Sports events

  • All basketball games over the weekend.
  • All volleyball encounters of the three upcoming game days.
  • All handball games of the lower divisions, youth leagues, as well as the AXA League.
  • The “Autumn Tournament”, organised by the table tennis club Reckange/Mersch, scheduled for 25 October.
  • The “International Cyclocross”, organised by ACC Contern.
  • The ninepins women’s championships, as well as all further competitions.
  • The “Curling Cup”, which has been postponed to 12 and 13 December.
  • All encounters organised by the bowling federation until the end of the year.
  • Finally, the Luxembourg Football Federation decided to annul all remaining Sunday match of the top men’s division.
