The minister of sports emphasised that safety distances would still have to be respected at all times in sports.
After PM Xavier Bettel announced further easing of confinement measures on Monday, Dan Kersch sat down with RTL to discuss the implications for the world of sports. He noted that the overall situation had improved quicker than expected, but that some rules still needed to be respected:
"Two constraints remain at this point: no physical contact and no competitions. A 2 meter safety distance has to be respected at all times."
Kersch also commented on the reopening of fitness centres:
"I appreciate the approach that the federation of gyms has worked out, as it prioritises the health and safety of clients. Now people need to be respectful."
Saunas are also allowed to reopen, although no more than one person can be inside at a a time. Changing rooms will also become accessible again.
