A new online community was launched on 21 April by Editus Luxembourg in partnership with Kaaftlokal.lu, in order to promote local traders and restaurateurs affected by the coronavirus health crisis.

The two entities decided to join forces to support businesses, allowing them to keep in contact with the community and to provide updates on the resumption of their activities. The site also allows consumers to locate businesses, support them and leave reviews to better promote their services to other potential customers.

Available in three languages (German, French and English), the site lists all stores and restaurants open across the country. Almost 600 shops are open in Luxembourg, with many businesses able to adapt to the confinement measures, offering online orders, delivery, take-away and collection slots.

Users will be able to search for the traders either via an interactive map, developed between Editus.lu and Geoportail.lu, or via the Editus "find a business" list.

Every Thursday, registered users will receive a newsletter with updates from various stores. Subscribers will be privy to opening times, news and offers.

The site also offers the opportunity to purchase vouchers for various stores in order to help protect businesses financially. The vouchers can then be spent in store once confinement measures are lifted.

Traders will also be able to appeal for protective masks and other safety equipment in order to adapt to security measures.
