The Grand Duchy is one of the most attractive countries for workers, belonging to the top ten worldwide.

In terms of attracting people to work in Luxembourg, the Grand Duchy is a champion. Luxembourg received a spot in the top ten of the Global Talent Competitiveness Index. In the 2020 edition, published by Google, the Adecco group, and the Business School for the World, Luxembourg ranks 8th. This follows Switzerland, the United States, Singapore, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Finland.

The ranking examines six categories, some of which are ones in which Luxembourg excels. The Grand Duchy ranked second in 'attracting talent', fourth in 'retaining', and ninth in 'enabling'. Luxembourg scored 19th in education, as well as in the top 20 for vocational skills. Broadly, Luxembourg's performance is due to the country's ability of attracting foreign talents and its 'world class pension and social security system', the Ministry of the Economy wrote in a reaction to the ranking.

The guide's creators highlighted that the 2020 ranking champions count a number of small economies with high revenues, due to the countries having developed open environments socio-economic policies which centre around improving talent and management.

Whilst Luxembourg does remain one of the top countries, the Grand Duchy has dropped compared to previous years. Luxembourg has dropped out of the top three, in which it placed proudly between 2015 and 2017. Since 2018, the Grand Duchy has remained around 10th. Despite its importance in the country's economy, Luxembourg City only scored 49th in the cities ranking. The country will have to put effort into maintaining its superpower to remain competitive in tomorrow's economic world.
