"Serious" conditionDeputy Prime Minister Félix Braz transferred to Liège hospital for further tests

RTL Today
Twelve days after Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Félix Braz suffered a heart attack while visiting Belgium, the government has announced that the minister will be transferred to a different hospital.

According to the latest update, Braz's condition has not improved.  As communicated by the government on Tuesday, the 53-year-old's condition remains serious but stable - the same as reported seven days earlier. Braz is now being transferred to a specialist hospital in Liège in order to undergo further tests.

He will remain in intensive care for the moment. The government said the minister's health had remained "serious" over the last few days and further information will be available at the discretion of the hospital once tests have been carried out. The government also thanked the press for respecting the family's privacy during this difficult time and encouraged this to continue.

Braz's party colleague and the Minister for Mobility and Defence, François Bausch, has taken over Braz's duties.

On Friday, the government council will meet for the first time since summer break started. Ministers will decide if and when any further personnel changes will take place in light of Braz's health.
