They calculate that per person, Luxembourg generated 607 kg of waste. This is less than Germany’s 633 kg per person, or Denmark’s 781 kg. The country that generated the least is Romania at just 272 kg per person.
In total the EU created 486 kg of waste per person, which was 7% lower that the 2002 peak.
Municipal waste is classified as waster that is collected by municipal authorities and moved to waste management facilities, either by households or shops, offices and public institutions.
