Luxembourg’s National Center for Victims of Violence (CNVV) presented its first annual figures at a press conference on Monday marking its first anniversary, with contributions from Ashanti Berrend, director of the CNVV, as well as Health Minister Martine Deprez, Gender Equality and Diversity Minister Yuriko Backes, and Justice Minister Elisabeth Margue.

Within one year, nearly 400 people were taken into care by the National Center for Victims of Violence (CNVV), meaning more than one victim of violence per day. 60 percent of them had Luxembourgish nationality. In 70 percent of the cases, the violence occurred within the family.
Since May 1, the central contact point for victims has been open around the clock, and a helpline has also been set up, which operates 24/7.
