Several lorry drivers were fined on Easter Monday, 3 April, for violating the public holiday driving ban.

Police carried out checks on the A6 and A3 motorways to ensure drivers were adhering to the restrictions in place for public holidays. A total of 26 drivers were found to be in violation of the rules and were fined as a result.

However, these were not the only offences recorded. In four cases, the cargo was not properly secured. Four drivers did not have a Euro Vignette in their vehicle, while two drivers could not present an exemption for vehicles that did not adhere to the legally mandated dimensions. Additionally, one driver was caught speeding.
