The online petition "No smoke on my plate" garnered enough signatures for the topic to be openly debated in the Chambre des Députés, Luxembourg's parliament.

The petition's goal is to ban smoking on restaurant terraces to protect children, pregnant women and other restaurant-goers that don't want to inhale second-hand smoke.

The petition was signed more than 4,550 times online, in addition to 339 signatures on paper.

This means that the petitioner's ideas will have to be discussed and debated in parliament which could ultimately lead to a change in the law.
