Eight new petitions were put online for signing on Luxembourg's parliament's website on Tuesday.
One of the new petitions concerns an extended smoking ban on restaurant terraces. Its goal is to prevent children and pregnant women from having to inhale second-hand smoke.
Another petition ask for the "right to disconnect", which would allow employees not to have to be available 24/7. The petitioners argue that there needs to be a clearer division between the private and the professional life.

The third petition demands the abolition of the right to a compulsory portion of an inheritance. The petitioner believes that each citizen should be allowed to decide for themselves to whom they can leave their inheritance. No-one should be forced by law to bequeath something against their will.
Another petition demands that employees should be able to work progressively less each year from the age of 50, while still maintaining the same pay.
