Out of 1,200 checks, some 212 drivers were advised to fix technical issues within a time limit of 3 days. Around 150 of these issues related to lighting problems for the vehicles in question.

Police issued over 90 fines to drivers whose vehicles showed several technical deficits, including 15 cases in which the vehicles were carrying unsecured loads.

25 vehicles lacked the correct tyres. In addition, 23 people received fines because their vehicles’ lights did not function correctly.

In 12 cases, the drivers did not have guaranteed visibility, and 10 cars had issues with the number plates either not conforming, not being visible, or correctly attached to the vehicles.

Eight motorists were found to be lacking the correct security items such as a high-visibility vest, or warning triangle, on board their vehicle.

Two drivers received fines for driving with a broken exhaust pipe.

Police patrols will continue to carry out these checks until the end of the year.
