A viral TikTok video showing rabbits jumping on a trampoline has reignited concerns over how difficult it is to distinguish AI-generated content from real footage, with experts confirming the video was likely created using artificial intelligence.

The video is currently sparking debate online over how easy it is to fall for fake content.

The video in question was uploaded in July by TikTok user rachelthecatlovers and has since been viewed more than 229 million times. The caption reads: "Just checked the home security cam and… I think we’ve got guest performers out back!"

The clip quickly went viral across social media platforms, prompting widespread discussion about whether it was genuine or generated using artificial intelligence.

Several US media outlets, including fact-checking platform Snopes, investigated the video’s authenticity. According to Snopes, the video is likely fake.

They highlighted two key giveaways: in one scene, a rabbit suddenly disappears from the trampoline, and in another, a rabbit abruptly changes colour and shape. The TikTok account that posted the video had previously uploaded another clip featuring a watermark from "Veo", an AI tool used to generate videos.

Other outlets, such as Yahoo! News and 404 Media, also concluded that the video was created using artificial intelligence.
