Ever heard of the cimbalom before? Imagine removing the lid from a grand piano and you're left with a type of dulcimer: a cast iron frame with a wooden exterior, and a host of strings to be played with small hammers. Originating from Hungary, the cimbalom looks just like that and will mesmerise you with its soothing, exotic tones on 12 November. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake – the groundbreaking reinvention of Tchaikovsky's classic – returns to the stage at the Grand Théâtre.
