On Remembrance Sunday – Sunday 9 November – the Anglican Church of Luxembourg will hold a service in Luxembourg City, with a two minute silence in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in wars and conflicts.

The Anglican Church of Luxembourg's annual Remembrance Day Service will take place on Sunday 9 November at 10.45am. Everyone (children included) is invited to this service; the only ask is that those wishing to attend arrive and are seated by 10.45am at the latest.

Representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions, H.M. Armed Forces, and other associations and organisations will be present to lay wreaths.

At 11am there will be the Act of Remembrance with a two minute silence, when the congregation will remember all those who lost their lives in wars and conflicts.

Remembrance Day, which takes place annually on 11 November, marks the end of the First World War, and is a date on which those who lost their lives – both in WWI and in subsequent wars and conflicts – are remembered. On this date, a two minute silence is observed at 11am – the time at which the armistace came into effect on 11 November 1918 – to remember those who have lost their lives in war. Remembrance Day is observed by the UK, commonwealth countries, and some other countries.

The service on Sunday 9 November will take place at the Konvikt Chapel at 5, avenue Marie-Thérèse in Luxembourg City.
