In celebration of International Women's Day, the British, Canadian, and U.S. embassies in Luxembourg have launched the "Diplomat for a Day" competition, offering young women in Luxembourg a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of international diplomacy.
The initiative aims to empower women to take on leadership roles in addressing global challenges and offers young women in Luxembourg a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of international diplomacy.
Last year's version was immensely successful and the lucky participants were able to gather valuable experiences. The participants began their day with a diplomacy simulation at the U.S. Embassy, enhancing their negotiation skills and discussing global affairs with Ambassador Tom Barrett. They then enjoyed lunch hosted by British Ambassador Fleur Thomas, engaging with female diplomats from the Luxembourg Ladies Ambassadors Club. After a media training session at Lëtzebuerger Journal, the day concluded with a reception at the Canadian Embassy, hosted by Ambassador Alain Gendron, where participants networked with Luxembourg's diplomatic community.

On 6 March, selected participants will spend the day engaging in various activities with the three embassies, including direct interactions with ambassadors, seasoned diplomats, and local leaders. This experience will provide valuable insights into the diplomatic field and the workings of international relations.
