1. See Les Misérables at Rockhal

What: English musical

This legendary musical, based on Victor Hugo’s world-famous novel, will transport you into a world of passion, sacrifice and hope. Sing along to tunes as “I Dreamed a Dream”, “On My Own” and “Bring Him Home”, and enjoy the iconic characters come to life. In English, with German and French subtitles.

2. Get rattled at Halloween festival for kids

What: Spooky entertainment

Halloween is around the corner, and that always brings great entertainment for the little ones in the Grand Duchy. Head down to Neimenster on Sunday for blood-curdling tales, a spooky puppet show, a ghostly maze, ghost Casper on the big screen and interact with historic and scary characters...all alongside face painting and scarecrow making!

3. See 47th Italian Film Festival

What: 300 screenings

As one film festival ends (the Central and Eastern European cinema earlier this month), the next one begins: The 47th Italian Film Festival of Villerupt, just across the border in France. Find the best of Italian cinema here, from old classics to the new masters of modern film. Discover a total of 70 films through 300 screenings until 11 November.

4. Get gaming at Rotondes

What: Calling all board game enthusiasts and gamers
Where: Rotondes, 3 Place des Rotondes, 2448 Luxembourg

Game On is back this year with a brand-new collection of games to explore. Visitors of all ages can try out video games from Luxembourg and the Greater Region, attend workshops, and participate in tournaments and markets featuring the latest releases and second-hand treasures. Highlights include Bistrospill 2024, a Pub Quiz, board game design workshops, exclusive presentations of prototypes by their creators, a kids' area with wooden games, an escape room, and a selection of historical video games. 5. Visit the Remich medieval market

What: Craftsmen and entertainment
Where: Place Dr. Fernand Kons in Remich

The main square of this Moselle town will host its sixth Medieval market with 44 stands, promising new craftsman such as salt boilers, soap makers, wood turners, pewterers, and blacksmiths. There will be replica jewellery, incense and scented stones. Entertainment comes from jugglers, and live music performers and plenty of food and flowing mead.

6. Dance to Irish live music

What: Halloween-themed party
Where: Centre Culturel Hollerich, rue Lavendier, L-1924 Hollerich

Comhaltas Luxembourg, the Irish community of the Grand Duchy, is hosting Halloween festivities on Saturday evening at the Cultural Centre Hollerich. Dancing Witches, side stepping zombies, swinging vampires, hopping ghouls all welcome. If you don’t have fancy dress then at least wear something dark…Members free, all others €10.

7. See vernissage by Steve Miller

What: Photography exhibition

Our own radio host and news presenter Steve Miller, known for his abundant and brilliant sneaker collection, is exhibiting his photography at The Spirit. Join him for a drink and chat on Friday after 6pm about the photos on display, hear the backstories and his inspirations. All taking place at a bar serving some cracking drinks - be there of be square!
