Think Pink Luxembourg persists in the fight against cancer with their 6th Annual 'Race for the Cure' this Sunday, 13 October, 2024, from 9 am to 12.30 pm at Auberge de Jeunesse Echternach.
Sounding the horn for a good cause, Sam Steen and Meredith Moss were joined in the Today Radio studio by Carrie Cannon, president and founding member of cancer charity Think Pink Luxembourg, as well as committee member Freda Deed.
Carrie and Freda were excited to announce this year's edition of 'Race for the Cure', which will kick off on Sunday morning at Echternach Lake's Youth Hostel (Auberge de Jeunesse).
They were also proud to promote the new edition of their Think Pink Guide, a Luxembourg-specific resource intended to answer many of the practical questions that arise following a cancer diagnosis. Another new development from Think Pink is a men’s support group, the details of which can be accessed through their website.
You can listen to the full interview on RTL Play or via the player below.
Race for the Cure
For this year's 'Race for the Cure' event, participants can run, walk, or jog around the lake as many times as they want. Racers will be in groups, with runners and joggers taking off at 10.30 am and walkers starting immediately thereafter. The last group of walkers will depart at 12.30 pm.
To get involved, create a team name and register. Registration closes on Saturday, 12 October at 7 pm, although it will be possible to register on the day by visiting the event's check-in desk when it opens at 9 am.
Feel free to bring your friends, children, and pets on leads to join in the spirit of solidarity. The cost is €20 per adult and €10 for children. The Youth Hostel will be open for hot and cold drinks and food.
