The Telugu Association of Luxembourg (TAL) is set to bring the magic of Indian traditions, the excitement of cultural performances, and the irresistible flavours of South Indian cuisine to Luxembourg with the Dasara and Bathukamma Festival 2026, taking place on Sunday, 25 October 2026, at Hall O in Differdange.
Bringing together the Indian community, Luxembourg residents and people from diverse cultural backgrounds, this annual festival promises a fun-filled day of music, dance, traditional celebrations, delicious food, and exciting activities for the whole family.
And there's something extra special this year: TAL is introducing 'Bazaar of Games – By Gen Z & Gen α', a brand-new attraction where young minds aged eight–18 take centre stage as game creators, entrepreneurs, and stall owners.
Packed with interactive games, creative challenges, and innovative stalls, this exciting initiative celebrates the creativity, confidence, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit of the next generation.
Dasara is one of India's most cherished festivals, symbolising the victory of good over evil, the importance of courage, and the spirit of new beginnings. At the heart of the celebration is Bathukamma, a beautiful floral festival originating from the Indian state of Telangana.
Celebrated with colourful, cone-shaped arrangements of seasonal flowers, Bathukamma represents life, prosperity, harmony, and the beauty of nature.
The traditional Bathukamma celebrations will begin at midday, bringing together families and friends in a joyful atmosphere of traditional songs, colourful attire, and community togetherness.
Visitors can look forward to a lively programme of traditional Indian dance, music, and cultural performances, showcasing the richness and diversity of Indian heritage. From energetic dance performances to graceful traditional presentations, the festival will offer a wonderful opportunity for audiences of all backgrounds to discover and appreciate the artistic traditions of India.
Families and children can also enjoy engaging activities, including face painting, henna art and creative workshops, making the celebration an enjoyable cultural experience for everyone.
And of course, no Indian festival is complete without delicious food: Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy an authentic South Indian buffet, featuring a tempting selection of traditional vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, aromatic spices and regional specialities.
From rich flavours to mouth-watering delicacies, the food experience promises to be a delightful culinary journey through the traditions of southern India.
Through this annual celebration, the Telugu Association of Luxembourg continues to promote Indian cultural heritage while strengthening connections between communities in Luxembourg's vibrant multicultural society. Whether you are familiar with Indian traditions or simply curious to experience something new, everyone is warmly invited to join this colourful celebration.
Mark your calendars and join us for a day where colours meet culture, traditions inspire generations, and Luxembourg and India come together in celebration!
