The Grand Ducal palace announced the birth of little Prince François on Monday, with a 21-gun salute to mark the new addition's safe arrival.

Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie welcomed a second son to their family on Monday 27 March.

53cm long and weighing 3.5kg, Prince François Henri Luis Marie Guillaume was born at 10.15am. Both mother and baby are said to be doing well.

Well-wishers may leave messages of congratulations on the monarchie.lu website.

The Grand Ducal palace's police lodge will host a register from Tuesday, which visitors will be able to sign for the next three days. Messages may also be sent via post.

The Hereditary Grand Ducal couple has asked for donations to the Fondatioun Lëtzebuerger Kannerduerf, a children's charity, instead of gifts.

To commemorate the new prince's birth, the Luxembourg Army fired a 21-gun salute from Fetschenhaff on Monday evening.

The Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess are delighted to announce the birth of their son, born today, Monday, March 27, 2023 at 10:04 a.m. at the Grande-Duchesse Charlotte State Maternity Hospital.

The prince has been named François Henri Luis Marie Guillaume. He has a weight of 3.575kg and a size of 53cm.

Princess Stéphanie and the baby are doing well.

The Hereditary Grand Duke couple and Prince Charles are looking forward to introducing you to Prince François.
