
Wholesome activities for families and expecting mothers are to be found throughout the Grand Duchy this week, as we approach the magical month of October.
Monday, 29 September
Pregnancy Yoga in Mamer
Prenatal yoga classes are resuming in Mamer, offering expecting mothers a chance to stretch, relax and connect in a supportive environment. Sessions are held weekly and are open to all stages of pregnancy, focusing on gentle postures and breathing techniques.
Registrations are managed through the municipality.
Tuesday, 30 September
From apples to juice (ages 6–8)
Children are invited to explore the orchard at the National Museum of Natural History, learn about the plants and wildlife there, then collect apples and press them into fresh juice. This hands-on workshop introduces nature and food in a fun and rewarding way.
Wednesday, 1 October
PEKiP course in Betzdorf
PEKiP (Prague Parent-Child Program) is a course designed for babies in their first year of life, accompanied by parents or grandparents. Developed in the 1960s by Dr Koch in Prague, the programme focuses on early development through play and movement.
Weekly 90-minute sessions take place in small groups under the guidance of a certified instructor. Babies are allowed to play without clothing in a warm and safe environment, fostering activity and comfort. The sessions use age-appropriate stimuli to support physical, mental, linguistic and social skills during this important stage.

LUGA: Create your own magical elf hat
In this creative workshop, children will design colourful felt hats for elves and flower characters. Using scissors and a sewing machine, each participant will craft their own magical hat inspired by the colours of nature. All materials are provided and no prior sewing knowledge is required.
Friday, 3 October
‘Trounwiessel’ – accession to the throne
Luxembourg will mark the abdication of Grand Duke Henri and the accession of Grand Duke Guillaume with a series of official ceremonies and celebrations from 3 to 5 October.
The programme includes state ceremonies, public gatherings, and religious services, culminating in a gala dinner at the Grand Ducal Palace.
Events will take place throughout Luxembourg, with many broadcast live on television and online – and RTL Today will, of course, bring you all the coverage.

Grand Duke Guillaume’s tour in Grevenmacher
As part of the national celebrations for his accession, Grand Duke Guillaume will begin his tour in Grevenmacher on 4 October. The event will honour individuals active in voluntary work as well as the promotion of sport and local athletes.
Sunday, 5 October
Treasure hunt: The sacred flower of the fairies
The protective fairies of Preisch Castle have vanished, and only the discovery of the Poudrus flower can bring them back. Families and friends are invited to take part in an outdoor treasure hunt through the castle’s park, solving riddles and deciphering clues step by step.
Armed with a compass and booklet, teams will explore every corner of the grounds, competing to unravel the mystery first. The adventure combines nature, culture and puzzles, with a small reward awaiting the most successful treasure hunters.
