2. Parc de Wesserling Ecomusee Textile Little Paris Festival - Alsace, France
Sunday 19 July 2026
Exceptionally well preserved, the Wesserling Park – Ecomusée Textile is one of the few European industrial sites to be able to show its public the different historical, social, and technical strata of the textile industry from the 18th to the 21st century. It covers almost 42 acres of land and 100,000 m² of buildings.
For 250 years, Wesserling was a city of considerable size, occupying almost 70 acres of land, including 17 acres of parks and gardens, 24 acres of productive industrial areas, and around 30 acres of natural areas. The site was world-famous, with 5,000 employees around the turn of the twentieth century, and became known for its beautiful textile printing products.
On Sunday 19 July 2026 the Wesserling Park Gardens will celebrate the 19th century with a grand costumed Garden Party inspired by Wesserling's "Little Paris". Throughout the day visitors will enjoy games and workshops from the past: hoops, croquet, skipping ropes, potato sack races, and creative activities. Visitors who are dressed in 19th-century period costume will receive free admission.
Amongst the offered activities, it is also worth mentioning that at 3pm, there will be a children's parade wearing the costumes of the era. A truly unique experience when you are exploring this area.
