Luxembourg offers drama classes for young talent, with acting, voice, and musical theatre workshops in English and other languages.

Does your child love to express themselves creatively? Do they memorise all the lines from their favourite films and recite them to you on long car journeys? Or sing and dance around the living room, busting out show tunes, flamboyantly waving their jazz hands? Let’s take a look at what’s on offer in Luxembourg to encourage your child’s love of performing arts!

École de Théâtre in Findel offers classes in English which focus on the technical aspects of drama such as breathing, voicework, and body language, as well as diving into emotions and feelings in order to explore different roles. Lessons also feature improvisation and work with texts and culminate in a show at the end of the year. Classes in English are held on Tuesday afternoons for children aged 9 to 13. A trial lesson is available on demand.

In Junglinster, n’be you offers performing arts lessons in English with Samantha on Thursdays (age 12-16) and on Saturdays (age 6-8 and 9-12). These classes are designed to teach children basic theatre techniques, improve communication skills and increase confidence. In Luxembourg, Clair-Louise Walsh offers LAMDA classes in ‘Acting’, ‘Verse and Prose’, and ‘Musical Theatre’. Children develop their theatrical skills and when they are ready, they can choose to take an exam based on a set piece. Currently, Clair-Louise delivers these classes as extra-curricular activities at various schools but hopes to branch out and establish evening and weekend classes in 2025, so watch this space. Pirate Productions is an English-speaking musical theatre group based in Luxembourg city. Check their website for announcements regarding forthcoming shows as they will be on the lookout for actors, dancers, musicians as well as techies to help with backstage, lights, sound, costume and set building. Depending on the production, they may or may not be looking for child performers. However, for keen teens, the production team will always welcome a helping hand!

Led by experts and professional musicians, Philharmonie workshops are designed to inspire all children, regardless of skill or knowledge.
