The band is celebrating the forty years it has been involved in the music scene with a major world tour, which includes 38 shows across 12 countries in Europe. And obviously, the band is stopping off in Luxembourg, performing at the Rockhal on 29 June.
The tour celebrates 40 iconic years and the word iconic is definitely fitting. The band’s most famous hit is the instantly-recognisable Don’t You (Forget About Me), from the soundtrack of 1985’s The Breakfast Club. As well as having become one of the most iconic sounds of the 1980s, the band has had five UK #1 albums, topped singles charts both sides of the Atlantic, and sold over 60 million albums.
Simple Minds, now fronted by the two remaining members of the original band Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, continue to make music and the next album is expected to be released in 2021. The band’s most recent release was Live in the City of Angels, a live album capturing the band on tour.

Tickets for the Rockhal show go on sale on Friday 13 December at 10 am on den Atelier‘s site. But you could also be in with a chance of winning tickets - watch this space.
