Since Luxembourg's return to the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in 2024, the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC) has served as the national final to select the Grand Duchy’s Eurovision representative.
Artists wishing to compete in the fourth edition of the LSC at the Rockhal stage can submit their applications starting Thursday, 9 July, via eurovision.rtl.lu/registration.
This upcoming edition aims to maximise opportunities for Luxembourg’s artistic talent by selecting artists and songs through two parallel application processes.
Singers, performing artists, and music groups interested in representing Luxembourg at the LSC/ESC can apply for auditions without needing a specific song at the outset.
Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old by 15 January 2027 and demonstrate a strong connection to Luxembourg by meeting one of the following criteria: holding Luxembourgish nationality, having resided in the Grand Duchy for three consecutive years, or showing genuine involvement in Luxembourg's music scene (e.g., regular participation in local festivals and events).
Applicants must also be available from November 2026 to May 2027 for preparation and promotion activities related to the LSC and ESC. Candidates should be capable of live performance and comfortable on a large stage, with a maximum of six people allowed on stage.
The deadline for application submissions is 20 September 2026 at 11.59pm. Auditions are scheduled for mid-October 2026 before an international jury of Eurovision experts, who will pre-select candidates for the Luxembourg Song Contest.
Songs proposed for LSC 2027 have a separate application process, open via eurovision.lu until 29 October 2026.
Songwriters and composers from Luxembourg and abroad are invited to submit songs for Luxembourgish performers. Songs must not exceed three minutes and should not have been released or publicly performed before 1 September 2026. Any language is permissible, with songs in Luxembourgish highly encouraged.
A panel of music and Eurovision experts will pre-select songs with strong Eurovision potential to present to the shortlisted candidates.
Artists and selected songs will converge during a Pairing Workshop, scheduled for late October/early November.
During the workshop, artists will receive guidance from industry experts, including coaches, musicians, and Eurovision specialists, to select the song that best showcases their artistic identity and enhances their chances of success at Eurovision. The chosen song may be the artist's own composition or one submitted by another songwriter.
At the end of this collaborative process, the finalists for the Luxembourg Song Contest will be selected, ready to prepare for the competition.
The next Luxembourg Song Contest edition will occur on 30 January 2027 at the Rockhal in Belval, where Luxembourg’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 will be chosen.
In 2026, eight finalists competed in the national final, with Eva Marija winning the Luxembourg Song Contest with Mother Nature, subsequently representing the Grand Duchy in Vienna last May.
Following Dara's victory with Bangaranga, the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 will be held in Bulgaria in mid-May. The host city and exact dates will be announced later this summer.
Under the mandate from the Luxembourg Government, RTL Lëtzebuerg is responsible for organizing and coordinating Eurovision activities in Luxembourg, including the Luxembourg Song Contest and participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.
