Luxembourg artist Maz Univerze returned to the DB3 Show to debut his deeply personal new album Little Prince, sharing track-by-track insights and stories from his Eastern European tour.
This Saturday’s DB3 Show featured a return visit from one of Luxembourg’s most boundary-pushing artists – Maz Univerze. A regular guest on the show, this time Maz joined host DB3 to present his brand new album, Little Prince, in full, with track-by-track reflections and stories from the road.
Little Prince is an unflinchingly personal record, with Maz taking listeners deep into his memories and emotions. From the opening guitar stabs of Alien Blood to the album’s introspective closer, the project explores the artist’s childhood, identity, and journey through adulthood.
Maz spoke candidly about the political undertones of his lyrics, particularly when addressing his Hungarian roots and the challenges of performing LGBT+ themed songs in the region. Despite that, his recent tour through Eastern Europe, including shows in Vienna, Budapest, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, proved a triumph, with fans singing along to every word.
It’s a testament to the deliberate path Maz has carved for himself as a Luxembourg artist focused on building an international audience, especially in the East. And as a lifelong Green Day fan, Maz isn’t shy about dreaming big, he’s crossing his fingers and eyeing a support slot at their massive upcoming Luxembourg show as the ultimate milestone.
Also making an appearance in the conversation were his now-iconic giant teddy bears, which he’s worked into his live set as symbolic stage props. A fun concept with a logistical downside, only one teddy could make it onto some of the European dates!
Maz Univerze’s new album Little Prince is out now on all streaming platforms, and he’s also again curating and headlining the Mess’tival at Reckange-sur-Mess with fellow local legends Francis of Delirium among the highlights of a strong bill for the event on 9 May.
You can catch the full chat and album playthrough on the DB3 Show RTL Play page, and don’t miss his upcoming one-off live acoustic performance at Neimënster next week.
