Meredith and Steps received an exclusive insight into what Joel Marques' life looks like after participating in the Luxembourg Song Contest and The Voice of Germany 2023.

Since taking part in The Voice of Germany in 2023 and in the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC) earlier this year, Joel Marques' life has entered a new stage: regular gigs, writing songs, and enjoying life as it comes. Both shows have sent incredible opportunities his way, as well as feedback which he acknowledges and wants to incorporate into his new songs.

Joel shares how he gained confidence from his The Voice experience and how he has stopped comparing himself to other singers and songwriters, although he is still inspired by artists like Post Malone.

Right now his focus lies on finding his own style, including his softer voice, and his genre. His most recent single 'Oh my Love' is coming out on Friday 7 June.

Joining Stephen 'Steps' Lowe on Sunny Side Up, Joel opened up further about how hard it is to decide between ideas when coming up with new songs. Reflecting on his experience at the LCS, Joel mentioned how he was almost relieved to not have won the competition.
