"Record, Play, Rewind" is music for a sprawling cinematic landscape.

Max, one half of Luxembourg based electronic duo Artaban, spoke to Stephen 'Steps' Lowe on his show The LunchBox on Today Radio about their new album "Record, Play, Rewind" and making music with his brother Charles.

Max has been playing music in Luxembourg since 2007. However, he wasn't always making electronic music. In the first part of his career. Max was playing in punk and DIY bands. This was in part due to the lack of support for the music scene in Luxembourg. When he first started making music, everything was completely independent. It was difficult to gain traction.

Now, there is broader support for the Luxembourg scene, allowing for more kinds of music to be made. Max has no resentment, though. His come-up in the punk scene created lots of "human moments": experiences he might not have gotten otherwise.

When it comes to making music, Max and his brother Charles always knew they were going to make music together. It seemed fated. "Record, Play, Rewind" is the third studio album Artaban has created. It is released today, July 21.

Artaban is only playing one live show. On Monday 31, they are opening for ENGLEBRT at Rotondes.
