Dublin’s SPRINTS will release their highly anticipated sophomore album All That Is Over on 26 September via City Slang. The record follows their 2024 debut Letter to Self, which introduced them as one of the most exciting new bands to break through in recent years.
At Today Radio, SPRINTS have become listener favourites thanks, mainly, to the obsession held by Breakfast Show host Sam Steen and Hangover host Sarah Tapp who had most of their debut album on hard rotation ever since it's release and of course, the band's raw, urgent sound and powerful songwriting. Recent singles Beg, Rage and Better (which dropped this morning) have proved popular too and anticipation is building for both the new record and their upcoming Luxembourg show.
All That Is Over pushes the band into richer, bolder territory. Written on tour buses and in soundchecks while navigating a whirlwind of personal change and global unrest, the album captures both intensity and nuance. Frontwoman Karla Chubb describes writing as a way to process the chaos: “There was just so much happening and so much to process… I was writing every day because there was so much going on.”
The first single, “Descartes”, arrived with a striking video directed by Niamh Bryson. Inspired by Rachel Cusk’s Outline, the song twists the philosopher’s famous phrase into a personal mantra: “I speak so therefore I understand.”, setting the tone for an album that confronts modern pressures head-on while also carving out space for resilience and renewal.
Luxembourg fans can look forward to experiencing it all live when SPRINTS play Den Atelier in March of next year. Expect an explosive night where the new songs meet the band’s ferocious onstage energy.
