Founder Geoff Thompson spoke to Today Radio's very own Sam Steen about what we can expect from the Autumn edition of the celebrated event. 2024 is a milestone year for the festival: the 15th edition brings us a fascinating lineup and some very special guests.

Today Radio welcomed Geoff Thompson, founder of the British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg (BIFFL) for a lovely chat on The Sam Steen Show where he touched upon the upcoming lineup, special guests, how you can get your tickets and more, as the festival marks its 15th anniversary.

You can listen to it here.

The BIFFL began in 2010 (then called British and Irish Film Season) and is now a celebrated annual event showcasing the best of British and Irish cinema. And it is so nice that you get to see it twice: since 2023, the BIFFL has two seasons, the Spring Edition (which took place in March) and the Autumn Edition that is starting... right about now!

The core event (officially) begins on Monday 16 September and continues until the 21st, but screenings will take place before and after that period (from 11 to 26 September). The first one is at 7pm this Wednesday, 11 September at Ciné Utopia: 'Damaged', a thriller directed by Terry McDonough.

Special guests this year include Imelda May and Pat Shortt, to name but a few.

More information on screenings, venues, and the festival can be found here.
