The sculptor and painter was mainly active during the 1980s and 1990s.

Lofy's most renowned work includes the "Red Well" in Luxembourg City, the "Baccus Well" in Remich, the sculpture of violinist De Blannen Theis in Grevenmacher, the sculpture of Maus Ketty in Mondorf-les-Bains, as well as the animal figures at the playground in the capital's municipal park.

Wil Lofy was born on 31 January 1937 in Esch-sur-Alzette. Over the course of his life, he found a second home far away from the Grand Duchy, namely in Chile.
