Luxembourg swimmers returned from the World Aquatics Masters in Singapore with a trophy haul of 11 medals, alongside 21 new national records.

Luxembourg’s masters swimmers delivered a strong performance at the World Aquatics Masters Championships in Singapore 2025, securing five gold, two silver, and four bronze medals, along with 21 new Luxembourg Masters records and one championship record.

Leading the medal tally, Frédéric Tonus (Luxembourg Sharks, 50–54 years) captured gold in the 100m freestyle and the 50m butterfly, the latter in a championship record time of 26.25 seconds. He also added silver in the 200m butterfly and two bronze medals in the 100m butterfly and 400m freestyle.

Tonus has now won gold at four consecutive World Championships.

Malin Nilsson (Swimming Luxembourg, 50–54) contributed two gold medals in the 100m and 200m freestyle, while Max Mannes (Schwammclub Deifferdang, 25–29) struck gold in the 100m backstroke and bronze in the 50m backstroke. Carole Kettenmeyer-Reuland (Dauphin Ettelbruck, 45–49) claimed silver in the 400m individual medley, breaking Luxembourg masters records in all five of her events.

Meanwhile, Jil Pocervina (Swimming Luxembourg, 35–39) added to the national success with three Luxembourg masters records in backstroke events, while finishing as high as sixth in the 400m individual medley and eighth in the 100m backstroke. Other podium finishes included Olivia Lorton (Luxembourg Sharks, 50–54) with bronze in the 200m freestyle and Nora Bohler (Schwammclub Deifferdang, 25–29) with several top-10 placements, including a national record in the 100m butterfly.

Overall, Luxembourg swimmers amassed 15 top-10 finishes in addition to their medal haul. Strong performances were also registered in open water events, with Nicole Felter (Cercle de natation Dudelange, 65–69) finishing seventh in the 3km and Julia Ervio (Luxembourg Sharks, 30–34) taking 12th in her age group.
