Over 3,000 fans witnessed newly promoted FC Atert Biissen secure the national championship title in the top division, sealing their triumph with a crucial 1-0 victory over FC Differdange on the last matchday.
The result completes a remarkable journey for Biissen, who have risen from the first division, through Éierepromotioun, to BGL Ligue champions in consecutive seasons.
Biissen also make history as the first club from northern Luxembourg to ever win the championship title.

The decisive match against Differdange was cagey in the opening stages, with both sides struggling to create clear opportunities. Around the half-hour mark, Differdange’s Abreu delivered a dangerous ball into the box, but neither his teammate nor Franzoni could convert, with Biissen goalkeeper Gourari producing a fine save. Moments later, Biissen quickly countered, sending Abu Ramzi through on goal, but the Differdange keeper Ventura was equal to the task. The first half ended goalless.
After the break, Biissen needed to score, as a draw would have handed Differdange the championship. The breakthrough came in the 54th minute: defender Marasi rose highest from a corner and headed home from six metres, giving Ventura no chance and putting Biissen ahead. The home side then defended resolutely, limiting Differdange to few chances. Despite mounting pressure, Differdange could not find an equaliser, and Biissen held onto the hard-fought 1-0 win, sparking celebrations among players and supporters alike.
As national champions, Biissen will enter next season’s Champions League qualifying rounds. Differdange will compete in the Conference League qualification, while the direct showdown for Luxembourg’s third European place ended in a goalless draw between Mondorf-les-Bains and Strassen. That result secures third spot and European football for Mondorf, for the first time in the club's history.
Strassen still have a chance to qualify for Europe: if Differdange win the cup final against Rosport, fourth place in the league would also grant a European spot.
At the bottom of the table, the relegation battle was also decided on the final day. Rodange and Pétange are both relegated after suffering defeats: Rodange lost 6-1 at Racing, while Pétange were beaten 3-2 by Swift Hesper.
For Hesperange, those three points proved vital, allowing them to avoid the drop. FC Mamer and Jeunesse Kanech, who drew 0-0, now face the relegation play-offs.
