On his US Open debut, Luxembourgish tennis player Chris Rodesch was defeated by Hong Kong's Coleman Wong.

Rodesch played his first qualifying match at the US Open on Monday, but lost in straight sets, 4–6 and 2–6, and was thus eliminated from the tournament.

Rodesch, 24, is currently ranked 159th in the world, eight places higher in the ATP rankings than his opponent, Coleman Wong.
