Luxembourg sprinter Patrizia van der Weken impressed at an international athletics meet in Belgium, finishing just shy of her national record in the 100 metres.
Patrizia van der Weken delivered a strong performance on Saturday evening at the KBC Night of Athletics in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, clocking 11.07 seconds to finish second in the 100 metres – just 0.07 seconds off her national record.
The race was won by American Maia McCoy in 10.90 seconds, while Belgian Rani Rosius took third in 11.17 seconds.
With 11.07 seconds, van der Weken came very close to her season's best of 11.05 seconds set in Doha in May. Her national record stands at 11.00 seconds.
In the 100 metre hurdles, Luxembourg's Victoria Rausch secured third place with a time of 13.27 seconds. The race was won by Slovenia's Nika Glojnaric in 12.96 seconds, with the Netherlands' Mira Groot finishing second in 13.25 seconds.
