National coach Jeff Strasser revealed his 26-man squad on Friday morning, marking the start of Luxembourg’s new Nations League campaign. This season, a new format means the Red Lions will play four matches within roughly two weeks.
Among the notable absentees is Christopher Martins, who is sidelined with an injury, and Yvandro Borges, who is also not included in this selection.
Returning to the national team setup are Marvin Martins, Leandro Barreiro, Olivier Thill, Timothé Rupil, and Jayson Videira, all of whom had been absent from the most recent squad in June. Meanwhile, Omar Natami, who plays for BGL Ligue leaders UNA Strassen, has been called up to the senior squad for the first time.
Luxembourg will begin their Nations League campaign away to Bulgaria on 26 September. The team’s first home fixture under Strasser will take place at Stade de Luxembourg on 29 September against Iceland. Tickets for the home matches are still available.
