After making his senior debut for Luxembourg's national team, teenage sensation Brian Madjo has secured a professional contract with FC Metz following a breakout season with their U19 squad.

16-year-old Luxembourg international Brian Madjo has signed his first professional contract with FC Metz, the French club announced Thursday. The promising forward becomes one of Europe's youngest professionals after an impressive season with Metz's U19 squad.

Born in England to Cameroonian parents but raised in Luxembourg, Madjo joined FC Metz from Racing FC Union Luxembourg in summer 2023. Despite being among the youngest in his squad, he scored 12 goals in 24 appearances for the U19 team, showcasing the physical presence and technical ability that have marked him as a special talent.

His rapid development earned international recognition when Luxembourg coach Luc Holtz called him up for senior national team duty in March. The teenager has since earned three caps, playing approximately 60 minutes in each of friendlies against Sweden, Switzerland and Slovenia – remarkable experience for a player his age.

FC Metz revealed in their announcement that Madjo had attracted interest from "numerous European clubs," with rumours specifically linking Southampton to the young prospect. The club did not disclose financial terms but confirmed the contract runs through June 2028.

"I'm thrilled to sign my first professional contract with the club that developed me", Madjo told FC Metz's official website: "I want to thank everyone who has always been there for me: my family, my loved ones, and my agents. I truly hope we have a great season and I can't wait to make my Ligue 1 debut while scoring as many goals as possible for my club."

Madjo will wear the number 24 shirt. Just as with the Red Lions, the forward is now certainly a player to watch.
