Luxembourg's Olympic and Sports Committee has launched a sweeping new strategy to embed physical activity into daily life, aiming to boost public health, inclusivity, and international sporting success.

On Monday evening, the Luxembourg Olympic and Sports Committee (COSL) unveiled its new 'Integrated Concept 2.0' to promote physical activity across all ages, boost international competitiveness, and integrate sport more fully into everyday life through inclusive, community-wide efforts.

In the presence of Grand Duke Henri, Sports Minister Georges Mischo, the newly appointed COSL Council, and representatives from various sports federations, the main aims of the initiative were unveiled at the amphitheatre of the Coque National Sports and Culture Centre.

The strategy is built around three key ambitions: to strengthen society through sport and physical activity, to ensure that every member of society engages in regular physical movement, and to increase the number of Luxembourg athletes competing successfully on the international stage.

The concept is anchored in the core values of respect, integration, inclusion, and environmental responsibility. It is shaped by the Olympic principles of excellence, respect, and friendship, while also embracing the values upheld by the Paralympic and Special Olympic movements.

At its heart is a mission to embed sport more deeply into everyday life across Luxembourg – for all age groups.

Particular emphasis was placed on the benefits of physical activity for children, the essential role of volunteer engagement, promoting movement in daily life, and encouraging activity in the workplace. The broader goal is to make physical activity a natural part of everyone's routine, with awareness raised across all segments of the population, in ways that are adapted to different age groups.

To achieve this, ten strategic focus areas have been identified, all working in tandem toward the overall vision. The COSL and the Ministry of Sport will work closely together to implement this inclusive and forward-looking concept, aiming to make sport and movement accessible and relevant to all.
