Thursday was a bright day for Luxembourgish athletes at the Special Olympics World Winter Games held in Sestriere and Pragelato in Italy on Thursday, with several podiums and other strong finishes.
The Luxembourgish delegation had quite the day at the World Winter Games, this Thursday:
Pit Frank won third place in the 7.5km cross-country skiing discipline.
In the women's slalom competitions, Danièle Jankovoy secured second place in the category Advanced F03, and Carole Schambourg came in at sixth place in the Beginner F04 category.
Within the intermediate category M01, Marten Ottens was awarded the gold medal, with Yves Logelin ranking eighth in intermediate category M05.
The women's 200m snowshoeing race brought more notable results: Sophie Caron, in category F06, received a bronze medal and Cathia Jacobs, F09, finished with a silver medal.
Saturday, 15 March will mark the final day of the World Winter Games.
