Patrizia van der Weken went all the way in the 60m event at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Glasgow on Saturday.
With a time of 7 sec 12, the Luxembourger had qualified for the finals on Saturday morning. There, she took on six other competitors in the final that same evening. With a sprint time of 7 sec 15, she finished 7th in the final, won by Saint-Lucian Julien Alfred, who took victory in 6 sec 98. The rest of the podium was made up of Poland's Ewa Swoboda (7 sec 00) and Italy's Zaynab Dosso (7 sec 05).
The podium was unreachable for the 24-year-old Luxembourger from the Nordstad, who is on the up, having just bettered the national record for the discipline in 7 sec 09 at the beginning of January.
Luxembourger Vera Hoffmann sadly missed to qualify for the final over 1500 meters.
The Indoor WC has thus come to an end for the Luxembourg delegation.
