On Thursday evening, the sports reporters' Awards Night took place at the casino in Mondorf-les-Bains, in a ceremony celebrating Luxembourg's distinguished athletes.
The ceremony did not only name the sportsman/sportwoman and team of the year, but also awarded prizes for ultra sport, fair play, para sports, an honour award, and youth athletes.

Sportsman of the year
For the first time in his career, Bob Jungels came away with the sportsman of the year prize. With 542 votes ahead of Bob Bertemes' 275, Jungels was the clear winner. Kamil Rychlicki came in third plaze.

Sportswoman of the year
Clearly the year of the cyclist ,Christine Majerus joined fellow cyclist Jungels as the female counterpart. With 539 votes, Majerus clearly beat Mandy Minella who received 303 votes.
Previous winner Ni Xia Lian came in third place.

Team of the year
Who else could it be but F91 Dudelange? This marks the second time that the team received the award, having gained the accolade in 2012. The team made headlines for becoming the first Luxembourgish football team to make it into the group phase of the Europa League. Followed by the Luxembourg national football team in second place and table tennis duo Ni Xia Lian and Sarah de Nutte in third, it was clear that this year was Dudelange's year.

Trainer of the year
As with F91's accolade, F91 trainer Dino Toppmöller won the equivalent award for trainer of the year.
