Working from home isn’t new. Before the pandemic, however, many companies were still treating it as an occasional practice allowed only for certain employees. The details vary, but overall remote work awareness has created an expectation that will outlive the crisis. This came through in a part of the Decoding Global Talent survey among over 500 respondents in Luxembourg, rom a collaboration of BCG and The Network.

Luxembourgish talents expect remote work but still want to go to the office

In Luxembourg, 85% of people expect working fully or partially remote after pandemic ends. But only a relatively small proportion of workers—16%—would switch to a completely remote model if they could. The rest like the idea of a combination of home days and office days. And it is indeed flexibility that most people are interested in.

Among other advanced countries, Luxembourgish people don’t want to work fully remote

To the extent that there is an appetite for fully remote work, it seems not to be in the most economically advanced countries. For instance, residents of Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, and Finland—who are among the most likely nationalities to be working from home now—are among the least likely to say they would be okay with never going to the office again.
