Taste, chat… then choose

This is one of the great pleasures of the Festival: being able to taste before you buy.

Is a particular appellation intriguing you? Is a bottle tempting you, but you’re still unsure? Tasting sessions are being held in ten Cactus shops, with dates and times varying by shop. It’s a chance to step outside your usual habits and try a wine you might not have dared to choose based solely on its label.

At Belle Etoile and Bascharage, the stands and tastings will be set up in the shopping centres from 12 to 25 October, with sessions running until 9 pm on Fridays. In Howald and Bettembourg, tastings are scheduled from 12 to 24 October, according to the announced dates and times. Further events await you in Esch-Lallange, Roodt-sur-Syre, Kayl, Ingeldorf, Mersch and Redange: plenty of opportunities to discover something new close to home.

Bottles worth up to 75 euros will also be opened for tasting.

And because behind every wine there are also women, men and a wealth of expertise, winemakers and representatives from wine houses will be travelling to Luxembourg to present their wines and chat directly with visitors. Terroir, vintage, food pairings, ageing potential, serving temperature… whether you’re just starting out or already know a thing or two about wine, everyone can explore as deeply as they wish.

Cactus wine advisers will also be on hand to guide visitors through the 598 wines on offer.

A fine bottle for every occasion

A good wine isn’t necessarily the most expensive. It all depends on what you’re looking for, the occasion on which you wish to share it… and, of course, your personal tastes.

That’s the beauty of the Festival: it allows you to discover fine wines across a range of price points. Some wonderful finds cost less than 10 euros; others will complement a special dinner, make a lovely gift or naturally find their place in a cellar to be laid down for a few years.

From the Languedoc, with Domaine de la Baume, to the Rhône Valley, with Domaine de la Janasse; from the rosés of Provence from Château d’Esclans to the great Bordeaux and Burgundies – everyone can explore France’s vineyards according to their preferences and budget.

Enough to pique the curiosity of connoisseurs too

Among the 18 new additions to this edition, one arrival is sure to catch the eye of Burgundy enthusiasts in particular: that of Maison Louis Jadot, one of the region’s leading names.

Eagerly anticipated for several years by the wine teams at Cactus, this selection showcases the house’s Chardonnay-based whites and Pinot Noir-based reds, spanning several Burgundian appellations.

Bordeaux also remains a must-have, with the 2024 vintage featured in the selection. It’s an opportunity to chat with the wine advisers about the characteristics of the wines on offer and to choose according to your tastes.

50 years, 50 wines at Festival prices

To mark this 50th edition, Cactus has decided to go the extra mile: 50 wines will be available with discounts ranging from 25 to 40 per cent.

This is an opportunity to discover a new appellation, upgrade to a higher-end wine, rediscover a favourite estate, or even select a few bottles to lay down.

Are you looking for a bottle for a special occasion or keen to discover a new winery? Make the most of the Festival to ask any questions you may have and sample the wines on offer. Visit participating Cactus shops from 12 to 25 October 2026, at the scheduled dates and times for the tastings.
