Aerators for taps, flow regulators for showers, LED light bulbs, insulating seals for doors and windows, etc. Households will be informed by post that the free energy saving kit provided by Enovos as part of the enoprimes programme will be available for collection in their participating municipality.

We should use any means possible to save energy and natural resources, and when the simplest solutions are the most effective, they should not be ignored. The new enoprimes initiative launched by Enovos, the country's largest energy supplier, will help many households to take another step towards energy efficiency without having to cut back on comfort. Tens of thousands of free energy saving kits will be distributed in the Grand Duchy. Households that receive an invitation in their letterbox can collect their kit at their municipality. The list of municipalities taking part in this initiative is available on enoprimes.lu.

The energy saving kits contain eleven items which are extremely easy to install. By using these items, a four-person household can save up to 59 m3 of water, 3,706 kWh of energy consumption and 329 kg of CO2 per year (based on the average consumption of a four-person household). In view of the current situation, these savings are a blessing!

Hot water represents a significant energy expense for a household. For this reason, several items in the kit are specifically aimed at reducing water consumption. Two aerators for taps will reduce the flow rate from 12-14 litres per minute to only 5 litres per minute, with no loss in terms of comfort. The aerators can be used on all types of spouts, in the kitchen and in the bathroom.

Using the same principle, a shower-flow regulator which is also compatible with hoses and taps will allow you to save up to 45% of water, based on an average flow rate of 18 litres. With this regulator, you don't have to change your shower head to make savings.

The kit also includes a recyclable plastic flow-meter bag to accurately measure the flow rate of every tap or shower in the house. Simply attach it to the water supply and turn on the taps for 10 seconds. The scales will instantly measure the rate of consumption. This is an ideal way to identify the installations that waste the most water and to make the whole family conscious of the amount of water used, as we are not always fully aware of how much we actually consume.

Also, you will receive a shower hourglass for the bathroom which you can use to measure the five minutes needed to take a shower. It is attached with a suction cup and when you turn off the water, you just have to turn it horizontally to stop it.

Thanks to the three LED lamps, your lighting will also be more energy efficient.

Finally, by using the room thermometer, you can monitor the temperature and thus avoid overheating your home.

On a different level, the energy saving kit also contains a roll of insulating seal which can be glued to doors and window frames. It will prevent heat loss and cold air from entering your home.

An adhesive doorstop will cut off the transfer of heat between a heated living area and a cooler area.

Please note, with the exception of the LED bulbs, all the products provided in the energy saving kit are made in Europe. Moreover, the cardboard is recycled and assembled in sheltered workshops in France.

This kit, as well as its enoprimes programme, demonstrates Enovos' desire to help residents better manage their energy spending. Enovos provides expert advice and concrete solutions in support of the State's national strategy to reduce energy demand. The energy supplier also offers enoprimes subsidies for individuals who invest in the energy renovation of their home.
