Amy Macdonald first broke through with songs like ‘This Is the Life’ and ‘Mr Rock and Roll’, and over the years she has built a loyal international following thanks to her honest lyrics and energetic live performances. Her last appearance in Luxembourg was in 2022, making this upcoming show a welcome return for local fans.
After a few quieter years, 2025 marked an important new chapter. In April, BBC Radio 2 premiered her single ‘Is This What You’ve Been Waiting For?’, her first new release since 2021. Speaking at the time, Macdonald reflected on how surreal it still feels to hear her own music on the radio, even after nearly two decades in the industry. The single announced the arrival of her sixth studio album, also titled ‘Is This What You’ve Been Waiting For?’, which was released in July 2025.
The album was a strong success, reaching number one in Scotland and breaking into the top ten in several countries including the UK, Germany, Sweden and Australia. It also sparked a European tour, bringing Amy Macdonald back onto stages across the continent and now, finally, back to Luxembourg.
