Lynda Jacob from Together for Hope Luxembourg joined the Sam Steen Show on RTL Today Radio this morning to discuss the event, which takes place on Saturday 9 May at 5am.
Previously known as Darkness into Light, the walk has been rebranded this year as Together for Hope, but its core message remains the same.
"It's a walk of hope in solidarity with those who have lost somebody to suicide and those who are struggling with their mental health", Jacob explained.
The event begins before sunrise, with participants gathering at the Hall Omnisport in Clausen before setting off on a 5km walk through the city as the sun rises.
"It's a walk of community to show that there are people who care", Jacob said.
The early start is a key part of the experience, symbolising a journey from darkness into light and offering a quiet, reflective moment for those taking part.
The change in name comes after the event’s previous international structure evolved, with the Luxembourg organisers now working directly with local partners.
This year, funds raised will go to three charities:
Together, they aim to continue raising awareness and providing support for those affected by mental health challenges.
"We believe no one should struggle alone", Jacob said.
In keeping with the spirit of inclusivity, there is no registration process or participation fee this year.
Organisers are simply encouraging people to come along, take part and show their support.
The walk will start at 5am from the Hall Omnisport in Clausen, with participants returning there afterwards for tea, coffee and a chance to connect with others.
