The body of a 27-year-old man was discovered inside a single-family home in Merl on Sunday evening, with a suspect later taken into custody, according to the public prosecutor's office.

The victim was attacked with a sharp object inside a single-family home on Sunday evening. His body was discovered at the scene. By Monday, authorities had taken a 27-year-old man into custody as the presumed perpetrator.

The public prosecutor's office has tasked the criminal police with carrying out the investigation. The examining magistrate has ordered a forensic medical examination and issued an arrest warrant against the suspect. National men’s basketball team raises over €4,000 for children's cancer research

• A charity basketball gala in Steinsel on Saturday saw the national men's team draw 67–67 with an All-Star squad, while collecting more than €4,000 for the Children's Cancer Foundation.
• The match raised over €4,000, which will be donated to the Children's Cancer Foundation. The event was organised by Scott Morton, a Steinsel player. Despite being in the midst of preparations for two crucial home games against Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, the national team did not hesitate to participate.
